Will A Rat Zapper Work On Chipmunks?

Question:

Will the electronic rat zapper work on chipmunks in your opinion? It will be placed outside instead of inside.
Thanks for your help. (ongoing battle for about 5 years now)

Answer:

The challenge in using it outdoors is making sure it is not exposed to dampness or rain that would make it short out. But if you can place a unit such as the Agri Zap RZUIR1 Rat Zapper Ultra, in a dry location, it will kill chipmunks as well as rats and give you years of service without exposing your family or your pets to toxic rodent poisons.

Although it is counterintuitive, if you have an especially bad infestation of chipmunks, it makes sense to turn off your unit for 24 hours once or twice a week. This keeps the chipmunks from becoming used to the trap. They may even start using it as a shortcut so they are quickly exterminated when you turn the unit back on. Always handle the zapper with gloves to avoid contaminating it with your scent, even when you first take it out of the box.
